What Do You See?
I had a friend once send me a text stating, “Boredom is the natural byproduct of believing that life has something to give”. I thought it was amusing when I read it but the simple statement made me think. I replaced the word “boredom” with, disappointment, depression, anxiety and hopelessness and the above statement, in my opinion, remained true.
Does life owe us something? I began to ponder this question and concluded that most people would fall into one or two categories. The belief that “Yes”, life owed us something or No, life does not owe us anything. Some may argue that your response would depend on if you were an optimist or pessimist. Others may argue that it depends on your life experiences. When I first sat down to pen this blog my intentions were for the readers to understand that bad things happen to good people and I wanted to impart some wisdom that I learned while experiencing some of my hardest life battles. However, as I was thinking about the message that many people would be ingesting I realized that I did not want people to believe that life was not meant to be enjoyed or enjoyable. Besides, It was Jesus who said that He came so that we may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). My prayer is that this blog will help to make you aware of the lie and the liar, satan, and that you are equipped with the truth, which according to John 8:32 will set you free. Free from what you may ask, free from depression, anxiety, hopelessness, fear and anything else the enemy is using to enslave you and deter you from the perfect plan that God has for you.
According to John 10:10, Gods Word says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Epictetus once said, “It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” However, I am a firm believer that how we react, depends on how we “see.”
My hope is that this site will offer some encouragement and that my stories may give you the opportunity to see things through a different lens. To see things from A Different Perspective.
